Cherry Swirl Brownie

We used Betty Crocker's Triple Chunk Supreme Brownie mix
 and mixed according to the package directions.
 

The cream cheese filling is:
2  8-oz. packages of cream cheese, softened.
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of chopped, well-drained maraschino cherries
1 egg

Beat the above ingredients until smooth.Spray or grease the bottom of the pan. Put half the brownie mixture in a 13x9 inch pan. Spread cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Spoon the remaining brownie batter on top and spread gently to cover.

Bake 40 to 43 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool completely before cutting. Store in the refrigerator. The secret is to make them at least two days ahead of time so the cream cheese can moisten the brownie.
