HUNGARIAN APPLE CAKE

 One half pound butter
4cups flour
½ tsp salt
2 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1/4-1/2 cup sugar (regular or can use powdered-I use regular)
½-1 tsp vanilla
Sour cream –approx 1-2 cups

Filling:  Apples or pears, walnuts (optional), lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon in amounts you prefer. 

Mix dry ingredients, add butter and mix till crumbly. Make well in center-add eggs, mix.  Add sour cream, as much as dough will hold.  Can add more butter if needed.  Cover in cool place for one hour.  Divide into 2, making one piece a little larger.  Roll out and place in greased  and floured 8x13 pan, edges of the dough going up the side of the pan a bit.  Mix ingredients for filling and place on dough, cover with remaining dough (rolled out). Brush with egg yolk or milk.

Bake at 375 for 45 min.
