   Italian Ingenue Cheese Ball

Substitute chèvre for cream cheese in Basic Cheddar Cheese Ball recipe and add:

2 T. fresh sage, minced
2. T. Italian parsley, minced
½ t. freshly grated nutmeg
Zest of 1 orange
3 T. spiked fig preserves
3 T. brandy (or sherry or port)

Garnish options:
Freshly grated nutmeg
25 toasted pecan halves
Fresh sage sprigs

Dust cheese ball with fresh nutmeg and decorate with pecan halves. Serve with slices of pears or apples, Jake’s biscotti, Dr. Kracker crackers, Carr’s wheat crackers or ginger wafers and sprigs of fresh sage.
